Most parks in France (Paris and Nice anyway) have these
beautiful carousels. The one below is in Jardin Albert 1er along the Quai
des Anglais in Nice and was free for people to ride. At the edge of town
is the Musée des Beaux-Arts, which houses a lot of work by Cheret,
Dufy, and Mossa. The museum itself is in terrible condition. The paint
is peeling from the walls to reveal beautiful murals underneath. I finally
remembered that it's ok to take photographs in museums in France, so I
did get some shots of the artwork here.
The conference banquet was at Le Café de Paris
(a swanky restaurant attached to the casino) in Montecarlo, Monaco. We
were down to our last 5 pictures on the camera, so we didn't get many
photos from that evening.
